Depending on the setup, options include low-voltage hardwiring, 110V hardwiring, solar, or battery/rechargeable motors. Hardwired is recommended for new construction; battery or solar works well for retrofits.

Do exterior solar shades actually reduce heat and glare?

Yes — solar shade fabric is designed specifically to cut UV exposure and solar heat gain while still letting you enjoy the view.

Over the past few months we remodeled our kitchen and 3 bathrooms. When done we realized we hadn't included the window treatments. After receiving a couple of estimates we called Blind Spot. Got a great estimate and really liked the shutters we had chosen. Now that they have been installed, it's become clear that this was the finishing touch that really brought the remodeled areas to life. The install and clean up was impressive. I used the Blind Spot to install blinds — a mix of blackout and sheer-ish, on all of my homes windows 9 years ago and everything still looks and works beautifully. Occasionally, I’ll need the small clasp for the cord, and they have always been awesome at sending replacements very quickly. Incredibly impressive, long term customer service. Highly recommend!!
